Federal Budget IQ is excited to announce that Rebecca “Becky” Leggieri is joining the group as a Consultant. Becky has been a FBIQ contributor since December 2022.

Ms. Leggieri is a federal appropriations and policy expert with extensive experience in the Army and on Capitol Hill.  She served for a decade on the House Appropriations Defense Subcommittee professional staff including six years as Staff Director with four (2015-2018) in the minority and two (2019-2020) in the majority.  During her tenure on the Committee, she handled every account in the Defense Appropriations portfolio. In Becky’s final bill, the FY21 Defense Appropriation, which funds the Defense Department and the Intelligence Community, totaled nearly $700 billion.

Becky and her team conducted daily oversight of Department of Defense funding and operations through Congressional Hearings and briefings while advising House Subcommittee and Committee members. She worked closely with senior defense, military, and intelligence officials and met regularly with defense industrial base leaders, think tank scholars, and non-profit groups to ensure that the needs of the military and intelligence community were met.

Lt. Colonel Leggieri (Ret) served for 20 years in the Army Reserve with most of that on active duty.  She began her Army career as a Quartermaster officer and finished in the Army Budget Office. In between, she served in logistics, operations, and public affairs assignments at all levels of the Army.

David Taylor, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of FBIQ, said “Becky Leggieri has impeccable credentials and an even better reputation.  The depth and breadth of Becky’s operational, budgetary, and appropriations experience both in the Army and on Capitol Hill is impressive.  Our clients will benefit from her ability to anticipate and adapt to changing DOD mission requirements and priorities.”
